Tips for June 16 primary

Voters head to the polls Tuesday for the June 16 primary election and special state question election. All voters will also have nonpartisan and local elections on the ballot.

Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Oklahoma has closed primaries, meaning voters must be registered with a party to participate in that party's primary. Independents may vote on State Question 832, nonpartisan races, and any local elections on the ballot.

All voters should verify their polling place before heading to the polls using the OK Voter Portal or by contacting their county election board. Voters must cast ballots at their assigned polling place.

Oklahoma law requires every voter casting a ballot in person to show proof of identity. Accepted forms include a valid photo ID issued by a federal, state or tribal government; the free voter identification card issued by the county election board; or a signed affidavit to vote a provisional ballot.

Voters who need assistance due to a visual or physical disability or illiteracy may request help from an assistant or use the ATI device at their polling place.

Election results will be available on the State Election Board website after polls close at 7 p.m.

Voters who experience problems at the polls should notify precinct officials and contact their county election board immediately.

Pitching has been equally impressive with a team ERA of 3.86 and 62 strikeouts and has not allowed an opponent to score double-digit runs throughout the postseason.

OU cruised through the Lawrence Super Regional, outscoring the Jayhawks 21-3. OU’s power surge continued, hitting seven home runs led by a pair from Dayton Tockey and Trey Gambill. The Sooner pitching staff was exceptional, allowing the Jayhawks just three runs on eight hits to go with 17 strikeouts and five walks. The Sooners powered themselves to the Atlanta Regional victory with 11 home runs, 17 extra-base hits and 49 runs. The 15-man pitching staff racked up 45 strikeouts across the five games.
